Obituary for David W Sawtelle Sr.
David W. Sawtelle, Sr., beloved husband for 39 years of Susan (Greene) Sawtelle, of Rhody Drive, Westerly, passed away at the Westerly Hospital on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Born in Pittsfield, Mass., he was the son of the late Phoebe and Roy D. Sawtelle.
David worked as an electrician for the E.B. Division of General Dynamics in Groton for many years until his retirement. He loved traveling for E.B., especially to Hawaii. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he leaves four children, Shawn Greene of East Palm Bay, FL, Joseph Greene and David W. Sawtelle, Jr., both of Westerly, and Christopher Pittz of New York. David will also be missed by his seven siblings, Randy Sawtelle of Jacksonville, NC, Jeffrey Sawtelle of Washington, MA, Larry Sawtelle of Dalton, Mass., Holly Pendigass of Knob Noster, MO, Karen Wood of Willow Springs, NC, Helen Sedgwick of Warrensburg, MO and Mary Wood of Willow Springs, NC; as well as four grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Sawtelle and Roy Sawtelle; and his by his sister Debbie Sawtelle.
