Charles Rix Brainard, Jr., of Pawcatuck, beloved father, son, brother and grandfather, passed away at L&M Hospital in New London on Monday, March 6, 2023 at the age of 71.

Born in Quonset, RI he was the son of Charles R. Brainard, Sr. of Pawcatuck and the late Catherine Brainard.

Charles worked as a cook for Foxwoods Resort & Casino for many years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and was known as a pool shark who also excelled at playing cards.
He loved Misquamicut Beach, whether he was there to work or play.

In addition to his father, Charles leaves his three children, Jason Brainard, Charlene McNeil and husband Deacon Walter McNeil, and Alexis Brainard; as well as his sister Barbette Pettini and her husband David; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by three sisters, Brenda Wilcox, Bonnie Ayer, and Barbara Brainard.
