Obituary for Elizabeth M. "Izzy" Nasatka
Elizabeth M. (Arruda) Nasatka, 95, of Stonington, CT, passed away at Pendleton Nursing and Rehab on Saturday, May 13, 2023. She was the wife of the late Alexander Nasatka.
Elizabeth, who was also lovingly known as either Belle or Izzy to the many that loved her, was born in Stonington to the late Wilhamina and John Arruda, Sr.
She was a devoted Catholic and was the oldest member of the Portuguese Holy Ghost Society, which she joined in 1941. Belle loved spending time with her friends and family, and was scarcely seen without her partner in crime, her daughter Vivian, who passed in 2021.
Belle loved spending her nights playing Yahtzee and cards and could be seen throughout the Borough and Westerly on one of her and Vivi’s rides.
She leaves behind her two children, Stephen Nasatka of Howland, ME and Kim Powers of Stonington; four grandchildren, Alexia, Hailey, Joseph, Alexander and countless nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who she loved as her own.
We will miss her dry, goofy sense of humor and all the laughter she has brought into our lives.
