Obituary for Richard C. Panciera

Richard C. Panciera, husband of Joyce (Cox) Panciera, of Browning Road, Westerly, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the age of 76.

Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Louis and Grace Panciera.

A kind and generous man, Richard enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He loved a good conversation, great literature, and the company of his beloved Labrador Retrievers.

Richard was a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army who had served as a J.A.G. Officer. He was a graduate of Cheshire Academy, then the University of Texas where, after graduating, he went to the University of Arizona Law School where he earned his J.D. Richard was a member of the NACBA, the RI Bar Association as well as the New York, Arizona and Connecticut Associations.
He was the attorney who volunteered his time for the Hope Valley Fire District.
He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce and a Board Member for the Westerly Land Trust.

In addition to his wife Joyce, Richard is survived by Jeffrey (Erin) Caster, Gary Caster and Jamie (Laura) Caster; and six grandchildren including his ice cream buddy Eleanor.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours to be held on Monday from 4-7p.m. at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly.
