Obituary for Immacolata Ritacco (Luzzi)
Immacolata “Margaret” (Luzzi) Ritacco, of David Ave, Westerly, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023 at the age of 81. She was the wife of 62 years of Natale Ritacco, who predeceased her by six months.
Born in Acri, Provence of Cosenza, Italy, she was the daughter of Federico and Rosaria Luzzi. Just newly married, she came to the United States with her husband in 1961 to build a new life.
She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a fabulous cook. Her jarred mushrooms, peppers, and eggplant were legendary. She was generous not only with her homemade pasta, bread, and jarred goods, to name a few, but with her love and her time, always the first to offer a helping hand, a delicious meal, or to simply share a conversation over a cup of coffee. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild were her pride and joy. There was nothing she would not do for them. To say she will be deeply missed by them is an understatement.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Mary Piccolo and her husband Patrick, Natale J. Ritacco and his wife Margaret, and Salvatore Ritacco and his wife Denise, all of Westerly, and Nunziato “Nooney” Ritacco and his wife Dianne of Jacksonville, FL, her three grandchildren, Eric Piccolo and his wife Cara, Jena Piccolo, and Natalie Ritacco, and her great grandson Rocco Piccolo, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her infant twin sons, her brothers Pasquale Luzzi, Giuseppe Luzzi, Angelo Luzzi, Salvatore Luzzi, and Giovanni Luzzi, and her two sisters, Maria Degiacomo and Rosaria Magliari.

Visiting hours are omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am on Wednesday, October 25 at St. Pius X Church, 45 Elm St., Westerly. There is no procession to the church from the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
