Obituary for Florence L. Mayne (Cockerill)
Florence L. (Cockerill) Mayne, 77, of Ross Hill Road, Charlestown, passed away at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence on Saturday, October 28, 2023. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Mayne.
Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Florence Cockerill.
Florence worked as a teacher’s aide for A Place To Grow preschool. She was a member of the Dunn’s Corners Community Church Presbyterian who enjoyed crafting.
She leaves behind two children, Nancy G. Mayne of Camp Hill, PA and Robert W. Mayne and his wife Stacy of N. Stonington, CT; and six grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Thursday, Nov. 2nd from 9:30a.m. – 11a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 12 noon at Dunn’s Corners Community Church Presbyterian, 221 Post Rd., Westerly. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Florence’s memory to HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 No. Main St, Providence RI 02904 by check or via their website, hopehealthco.org.
