Obituary for Valerie M. Pappadia (Servidio)

Valerie M. (Servidio) Pappadia, 67 of Spruce Street, Westerly, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was the wife of Louis C. Pappadia, Jr. for 38 years.

Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Carl Servidio and Evelyn Cugini.

Valerie was a hairdresser in Westerly for many years. When Val wasn’t working, you would find her cooking. She brought a unique dish to every celebration, and continued the tradition of making her mom’s specialties. These recipes will continue to keep her at the heart of every occasion; like potluck with friends. You could also find her telling witty stories, and lighting up a room with her smile. Val was selflessly devoted to her loving family. Her strength and support were endearing qualities, and the time she took to listen with heartfelt care.

Valerie was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.

In addition to her husband Louis, she leaves behind her son Nicholas C. Pappadia and his husband Jamal Safi; her brother Lawrence “Larry” Servidio and his wife Karen (Drago) of Pawcatuck; and many nieces and nephews, and in-laws and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 13 from 4P.M. to 7P.M. at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce. St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly, on Tuesday, November 14 at 10A.M. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
