Angelo “Boo Boo” Comforti, 85, beloved husband for 64 years of Phyllis M. (DeVoe) Comforti, of 8 Fusaro Avenue, Westerly, passed away at the Westerly Hospital on Monday, February 5, 2024.
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Rose and Frank “Shorty” Comforti, and stepson of the late Grace Comforti.
Angelo worked for the Town of Westerly in the Highway Dept. for many years until his retirement. He was also previously employed at Electric Boat in Groton for over 30 years as a welding supervisor. Angelo was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.
He especially loved walking the beach with his wife and granddog Brody, and was a New York Yankee and Notre Dame football fan.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, he leaves behind his children, Frank P. Comforti and Rosemarie “Rosie” Novak and her husband David, all of Westerly; his sister Lucille Sposato also of Westerly; and many nieces and nephews. Angelo was predeceased by his infant son Steven; and three step-brothers, Billy, Bobby and Red Gingerella.
Visiting hours are omitted. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10am on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. Burial is private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
