Obituary for Evelyn Sadowski (Brayman)

Evelyn (Brayman) Sadowski, of Autumn Lane, Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Edwin A. Sadowski who predeceased her on March 10th of this year.

Evelyn worked at Greene Plastics as a machine operator for a number of years and was the night manager at The Westerly Hospital Hospitality Shop. She previously operated Candy Galore with her late husband. In addition, she was a member of the Deborah Chapter No. 9 of The Eastern Star and a member of Christ Church where she crocheted with members of their Ladies Guild. Evelyn also enjoyed crocheting many gift for her family members.

She leaves behind her son James Hood of Waitesville, VT; five daughters, Patricia Browning of Hurricane, WV, Wendy Neugent of Wauchula, FL, Marilyn McKenna and Santa Mumenthaler both of Westerly, and Margaret Pierce of Zainesville, OH; and four step-children, Edwin J. Sadowsi of N. Providence, Kevin M. and Karen J. Sadowski, both of Cranston, and Patricia A. Rainville of Plaistow, NH. She is also survived by two siblings, Clayton Brayman and Ruth Brayman of Westerly; sixteen grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Charles “Honk” Hood and two granddaughters, Joanne Poole and Laura Kenyon.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday at (11am) at Christ Church, 7 Elm St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
