Obituary for Kathleen Winsor (Ballata)
Kathleen (Ballata) Winsor, formerly of Bradford, passed away at the Westerly Health Center on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the age of 94. She was the wife of the late James Winsor.
Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Hazel Ballata.
Kathleen worked as a spooler for Ashaway Line & Twine for a number of years. She was also a volunteer for fifteen years in the Reference Dept. at the Westerly Public Library.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith Vredenburg and husband Robert of Ashaway and Marjorie Cummings of Delanson, NY; and a sister Patricia Coon of Warwick. She also leaves five grandchildren, Susan (Tim) Haley, Pamela Gersbeck, Robert (Sharon) Vredenburg, Jr., Holly (Pat) Winsor-Crowley and Michele (Mike) Aiello; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by two sons, John M. Barr and Michael Winsor; son-in-law Glenn Cummings; and five siblings.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Dunn’s Corners Community Church Presbyterian, 221 Post Rd., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
