M. Alice (Cassidy) Jaconetta of Westerly passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20th, 2017. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Jaconetta and sister of James Cassidy of Pawcatuck.
Born in Deep River, CT, she was a daughter of the late James and Harriet Cassidy.
Alice (“Al” to those who love her), believed in the quote “One is nearer to God’s heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth,” which she had on a plaque in her yard. She spent endless, joyous hours there nurturing every plant. She is surrounded by beautiful flowers now in heaven.
In addition to gardening, she had incredible artistic talents that ranged from intricate craft projects and painting to her superlative cooking and baking abilities that she lovingly shared with family and friends. Her career included being a personal chef for a select few families in Stonington Borough and local restaurants when she was younger.
Her love for her family was boundless as evident in her selflessness, always giving and caring. She will be sadly missed by her daughter and caregiver Mary Alice with whom she shared her home in Westerly, daughter Gina Radicioni and husband Walter of West Hartford, VT, son Joseph Jaconetta and wife Tina of Glastonbury, CT and daughter Julie Almeida and husband Robert of Pawcatuck, CT; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and a select special few she regarded as family in her heart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30am at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
