Henry A. "Hank"  Wilkins
Henry A. “Hank” Wilkins, 92, of Lansdowne, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean with whom he was married for 66 years.

Born in Salem, MA, he grew up in Marblehead, MA with his late sister Martha, graduating from Marblehead High School in 1943. He attended Tufts University for one year before earning his Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in Engineering from Brown University in Providence, RI.

As a veteran of the Navy, he served in WWII and the Korean War before completing his service in 1953. Starting in 1953, Hank began work as an Electrical Engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation and then ABB where he retired in 1994.

As a long-time resident of Northern Virginia, He was a loving husband and father who cherished family gatherings, cruises, family beach trips and attending events for children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Henry Wilkins, Jr. (Susan) and John Wilkins (Lisa); daughters, Melanie (Tim) Bowen, Marianne (Kerry) Murphy, Patricia (Alan) Goldblatt, and Jeanne (Vance) Fye; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00pm at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21371 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA 20147 on Friday, August 24, 2018, following a viewing from 1:00pm until the time of service at the church.

Interment will take place on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 10:30am, at River Bend Cemetery, 117 Beach St., in Westerly, Rhode Island.
