Marylee (Pellegrino) Torrez, 73, of Maybrey Drive, Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Saturday, July 13, 2019. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Torrez.

Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Theresa Pellegrino.

Marylee worked as a manager for JC Penney for many years and had also been employed as a Blackjack Dealer at Foxwoods. A Communicant of Immaculate Conception church, she was also a member of the Calabrese Society Ladies Auxiliary, the Westerly Senior Center and a volunteer in her spare time at the Westerly Animal Shelter. Marylee was an avid reader and Bingo player and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter Tia Emard and husband Jeremy of Westerly; brother John M. Pellegrino and wife Cathy of Pawcatuck; niece Sarah Pellegrino and husband Kurtis Froling; brother-in-law Walter Torrez and wife Sandra of Westerly; niece Jennifer O’Brien; and nephew Christopher Torrez. Marylee is also survived by her grandson Aidan; and several great nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St, Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly on Wednesday at 11am. There is no procession from the funeral home to church. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. For online condolences please visit
