Obituary for Evelyn Hindle (Sherman)
Evelyn (Sherman) Hindle, of Ross Hill Road, Charlestown, passed away at Bayview Health Care in Waterford, Conn. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the age of 89. She was the loving wife of the late Robert L. Hindle.
Born in Wakefield, RI, she was a daughter of the late Arthur A. and Sara Sherman.
Evelyn was a member St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Alton and the YMCA in Wakefield. Evelyn loved sewing, crocheting, hymns, bird watching, sitting by the Bradford River and her two cats Buzzy and Dew.
She is survived by her children, Robert A. Hindle of Westerly, Donald E. Hindle of Virginia Beach, VA, Charles S. Hindle of Norwich, CT, Elaine M. Nelson and Diane E. Loper, both of Charlestown. Evelyn also leaves a sister Julia Van Valkenburg of Oneida, NY; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. A Funeral Service will be held at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter on Thursday at 11am. Attendees are asked to arrive to the cemetery outside the Administration Building at 10:45a.m. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements.
